MORTAL KOMBAAAAT!

As you may know, Warrior Dynamics are fans of video games and as video game fans we do get excited when we hear that a series is going from one medium to another.

Unfortunately, time and time again we have been left with the bitter taste of disappointment in our mouths after the constant atrocities of 2 awful Street Fighters, Tekken, D.O.A, 2 Mortal Kombat movies and a Mortal Kombat series (Mortal Kombat Konquest anyone?). So why should there be excitement over the new reenvisioning of the Mortal Kombat webisodes?

After seeing the first initial trailer known as Mortal Kombat Rebirth I had to say I was a bit excited. I'm no means a Mortal Kombat fan and many know I'm an avid Street Fighter fan (with Guilty Gear and BlazBlue in close 2nd), but when I see something thats done right, sticking to the story from the sorce material (or what story fighting games usually have) I always tend to garner an interest.

Recently I watched episode one of Mortal Kombat Legacy my anxiety dropped and the feeling of disappointment returned. Do not get it confused, this is no means saying that it was a bad video, not at all. It just did not grab my attention with something spectacular right off the bat. You might argue and say its only the first episode and I should give it time and I will because one thing that I am happy about with it is that they did not force the story out in the first episode. It's almost telling us it's going to give it's characters time to develop and create personalities (unlike Liu Kang who is the most blandest character ever created). My concern is that it might bore viewers. Lets take Heroes for example. The first episode kept you guessing, what does that symbol mean, how can that artist predict the future, whats going to happen in the next episode. It left you wanting more. Mortal Kombat legacy seemed abit slow. As the episodes continue this may all change.

For your viewing pleasure, here is Mortal Kombat Legacy
